“An Afternoon at Grandma’s” (WIP)
Two kids are sent to their eccentric grandma’s house for the day.
Mei is a very expressive little girl! I wanted her to feel playful and energetic; a little kid, with BIG feelings. In every iteration of her design, she has hand-me-down from her brother. Despite their typical sibling-esque bickering, she adores him. She got tired of her bangs, so she tried to cut them off. She quickly learned that isn’t how bangs work!
These are some early iterations of Mei! I wanted her to feel very expressive, dramatic, and playful in her poses.
Grandma’s design is very inspired by my very own grandmother, who sported a perm and sun visor for almost 40 years. These are some early explorations.
Above are some further explorations of Grandma’s shape language and color palette!
Jonathan, Mei’s older brother. He leads Mei on some haphazard adventures!
The Exterminator’s Entourage
Ratvis (WIP)
He’s the king of Rock and Roll…but make it RATS!
“Omma”
Kim is a character from my thesis film, “Omma.” In which a woman experiencing dementia drifts into a series of memories where she reconnects with her daughter.
